# Cordulus > Cordulus makes solar-powered weather stations that are installed directly on a customer's own site — a field, a construction site, a solar park, a road stretch or a racetrack — together with an app, an AI forecasting service and an API that turn those on-site readings into forecasts, alarms and operational decisions for that exact location. It is sold as a subscription (hardware-as-a-service), not as a one-off hardware purchase. Cordulus is a Danish company founded in 2015, part-owned by Danish Agro (a large Scandinavian agriculture group). More than 4,500 Cordulus stations are deployed across 22 countries. The public website is https://www.cordulus.com. **The problem Cordulus addresses.** Temperature and rainfall can differ meaningfully over distances of less than 10 km. Public weather station networks are spaced far too widely to capture that variation, so a regional forecast is often wrong for a specific field or work site. A Cordulus station sits at the place where the decision is made, so the data and the forecast are specific to that location rather than to a region. **The hardware.** The station is rugged, pre-assembled and 100% solar-powered, with a built-in mobile (GSM) connection — it needs no mains power and no Wi-Fi. Installation takes about 15 minutes using an included ground screw, 2 m steel pipe and magnets. Standard sensors measure wind speed, direction and gusts; air temperature, humidity and pressure (dew point is derived from these); soil temperature via an in-ground probe; and precipitation. A root-zone soil moisture sensor is available as an optional add-on. Solar radiation, UV index and cloud cover are shown in the app from external data sources rather than from an on-station sensor. **Measurement accuracy (published customer-grade figures).** Air temperature ±0.3 °C from −40 to 0 °C and ±0.2 °C from 0 to 60 °C; relative humidity ±2 percentage points; soil temperature ±0.5 °C from −10 to 60 °C; rain ±2 % over a range of 0–60 mm/hour; wind speed ±0.5 % below 5 m/s and ±3 % from 5–50 m/s. Readings are taken every 10 minutes and stored permanently, so historical data for a site is always available. The rain gauge is a tipping-spoon type, so it measures liquid precipitation only — not snow or hail. **The forecast.** Cordulus runs a 14-day hyperlocal forecast that combines global model data (GFS) with live measurements from each individual station, so the output is specific to that station rather than a regional average. It is reported as roughly 48 % more precise than traditional forecasts over the first 100 hours. The separate AI rain forecast is reported as roughly 52 % more accurate than traditional forecasting methods at predicting rain showers: it updates every 10 minutes (conventional numerical models are too computation-heavy to update more than about hourly), predicts rain movement up to 8 hours ahead, analyses roughly 1,536 km² of context around the site, and is built on a deep-learning model trained on around 8.2 million European rainfall examples. Unlike older radar-only "optical flow" methods that just track existing clouds, it models how weather develops into rain, and it returns a probability of rainfall rather than a single point guess. **The commercial model.** Cordulus is a subscription service. The subscription covers keeping the station running: if a sensor or the unit fails, Cordulus ships a replacement, so the customer never sources parts or pays repair bills. Nearly every part — battery, rain, wind, soil temperature, soil moisture and air sensors — is customer-replaceable with an illustrated guide, so most fixes are a part in the post and a short swap rather than a service visit. Buying hardware outright would mean lower running costs but leaves the customer carrying all repair and replacement risk. Prices differ by market, country and vertical and change over time — they are published on the pricing pages listed below and should be read from there, not inferred. **How the site is organised.** The same core station and forecasting technology is sold into five markets, each with its own section of the site. The root of the site (no path prefix) is the farming product, Cordulus Farm. `/construction/` is for construction sites. `/road/` is for winter road maintenance. `/energy/` is for solar parks, wind farms, energy construction and district heating. `/data/` is the raw data, dashboard and API offering for organisations that want the data rather than a farm app. `/motorsports/` is **SectorWeather**, Cordulus's brand for racing teams — SectorWeather is a Cordulus product, not a separate company. Pages under these prefixes describe the same underlying hardware applied to a different job, so a claim on a construction page generally also holds for the farm product unless it is about a vertical-specific feature. **What Cordulus is not.** It is not a free consumer weather app or a general forecast website; the forecast is tied to a subscribed station. It is not a research-grade meteorological installation. The stations do not measure snowfall or hail. ## Start here - [Cordulus Farm home](https://www.cordulus.com/): The main entry point — hyperlocal weather data for farming, and the clearest overview of the whole product. - [About Cordulus](https://www.cordulus.com/about): Company background, mission and history. - [Farm weather station](https://www.cordulus.com/weather-station): What the station is, what it measures, how it is installed and maintained. - [Farm pricing](https://www.cordulus.com/pricing): Current subscription pricing and what the subscription includes.
